Meet Our Staff
Tim Snarski, Veterinary Nurse
Tim Snarski was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania. He attended King's College for General Science and Johnson College where he earned an Associate in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. In June 2002, he completed the Veterinary Technician National Exam attaining Certified Veterinary Technician status. He regularly attends continuing education to provide the most up to date care for your pet. While taking each day as a new challenge and learning experience, he brings a unique ability to treat every patient as his own and sets high medical standards with love and compassion. He has special interests in chronic and acute pain management and anesthesia. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring North Carolina by hiking, skiing and snowboarding in the mountains and relaxing at the beach. He shares his life with 2 canines (JJ and Jordan) and 3 felines (Sadie, Kellie and Mack).
Archie Dunn, Veterinary Nurse Assistant
Archie loves science, nature and the outdoors. He has a diploma in forestry and wildlife conservation. Archie comes to veterinary medicine from the human medical side. He worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for seven years prior to joining Dogwood Veterinary Hospital & Pet Resort. He has two dogs, both American Feists (better known as Rat Terriers), named Nugget and Ranger. They both accompany Archie on outdoor adventures including river hikes and kayaking. They've been known to crab hunt and body surf at the beach. They can even be found off-roading and camping at Uwharrie National Forest or making snow angels on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the winter.
Anna Lung, Veterinary Nurse Assistant
Anna Lung was born and raised in Fresno, Ca, where she started working in the veterinary field at age 17. At that time, she fell in love with/adopted her first cat, Terry (who is currently very fat and happy). She moved to Davis, Ca for college in 2004, and now holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from U.C. Davis. During college, she continued working in the veterinary field, and adopted the newest love of her life, a not (yet)-so-fat, but still happy, kitty named Charlie. Charlie and Anna recently relocated to Pittsboro, NC, where they happily live with Derek and Sunny, Anna’s boyfriend and step dog. Anna enjoys making client and patient relationships alike, and strives to help pets of all ages thrive. So far, Anna loves the area, the people, and the weather. She would love to make new friends, so don’t hesitate to say hello when you stop by!
Ivana Key, Client Service Specialist
Ivana Key was born and raised in the Czech Republic. In 1980, she moved to the United States and settled in Los Angeles. In 2000, she moved to Florida and began working in the veterinary field as a receptionist. She worked at this clinic for 5 and ½ years. She has always loved dogs and cats, but it was there that she discovered her love for the veterinary medical field. In February of 2009 she relocated to North Carolina with her husband, Jack, and her little dog named Dino. She enjoys outdoor hiking, the beach, boating, swimming and biking. Ivana has a deep love of nature.
Maureen Frost, Pet Resort Supervisor
Maureen Frost was born and raised in Massachusetts. In March 2009, she moved to North Carolina with her husband, Dave. Over the last 7 years, she has held several positions in the health care industry.
Maureen has two grown children. When her kids were younger, Maureen helped to care for their many pets, including hamsters, turtles, parakeets, geckos, fish, mice and dogs. Maureen grew up with Irish Setters and currently has two dogs, an Italian Greyhound named Loui, and an Airedale named Rusty.
Maureen loves spending time in the outdoors. She especially loves the beach, the mountains, hiking, fishing, biking and watching the New England Patriots!
Carissa Sears, Pet Resort Specialist
Carissa was born and raised in Bay Village, Ohio. She is still getting adjusted to the south and settling in nicely, but misses her family and pets back home. Carissa is a certified groomer from The Ohio Academy of Pet Styling. She loves making pets look great while keeping them happy! She also loves learning about all aspects of animal care and health, especially dog behavior and training. Her love for animals started when she received her first pet at the age of 3, a cat named Smokey. Since then, there have always been animals in her life, big and small, furry and scaly. Carissa spends her extra time with her boyfriend, Mike, and their zoo, which includes their 3 dogs, Blue, Bongo and Baya (2 Australian Cattle Dogs and a Bichon/Poodle mix), along with 5 rabbits, 2 turtles and several large fresh and salt water fish tanks. When she’s not working with animals, she enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, and the beach.
Kari Corns, Pet Resort Specialist
Kari was born in the small town of Rocky Mount, Virginia. In 1990, she and her family moved to Chapel Hill, NC. Her first pet was a gerbil named Hot Shot. She now has two Rottweilers named Spike and Sammy, a Cocker Spaniel named Shianne, and a cat named Smokey. Kari is currently enrolled at Central Carolina Community College where she plans to get her Associate’s degree in Applied Science. Kari loves to spend her free time with her boyfriend, Brandon, her family, and friends.
Bonnie Swift, Pet Resort Specialist
Bonnie Swift was born and raised in Northport, NY and came to North Carolina to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Bonnie grew up with all sorts of animals-cats, a dog, chickens, horses, and a miniature donkey. She has always loved animals and knew she wanted to be a veterinarian at a very young age but chose a different track in college. Bonnie is now certain she wants to be a veterinarian and hopes to specialize in equine science as she has been around (and on!) horses since the age of 4. She graduated from UNC in May of 2009, but is continuing classes to fill prerequisites for veterinary school and is hoping to enter vet school in the fall of 2012. Bonnie enjoys running, the gym, horseback riding, and wishes Chapel Hill was closer to the beach.
Kristy Martin, Pet Stylist
Kristy Martin was born and raised in Michigan. She moved to North Carolina in January 2010 and loves that she gets to wear her sunglasses everyday! She has a Bachelors degree from Western Michigan University in Art Education (K-12), but found her life's passion in grooming. Her schooling consisted of 500 hours of hands on training, under the direction of Master Groomer Lisa Taylor, where she was taught to groom with the utmost compassion and patience. While some may look at grooming as challenging, she sees it as rewarding. She believes that grooming is not just about making pets look pretty. Instead, she feels that it is truly a privilege to care for treasured family members. She has been grooming for over 2 years and has never been happier. She moved here with the love of her life, husband Chris, and trusty canine sidekick Wally. When not primping pooches she enjoys going to concerts, playing outside, hula hooping and recycling.
