Lea Glandt, Hospital Manager

Lea GlandtLea Glandt was born and raised in Massena, New York. As a child, she was rarely seen without a pet in her arms. After obtaining her A.A.S. in Veterinary Science at SUNY Canton in 1995, she worked for an exclusive large animal practice for 3 years. Lea discovered that buffalo are by far the most dangerous animals that she has ever encountered. She then moved to North Carolina and became the head technician for a company that consisted of 6 veterinary hospitals. Two years later, she moved to Sunny Tampa, Florida, where she started her 6 year tenure with VCA and met her husband, Dave. She managed multiple hospitals for VCA and in 2006 she met and worked with Dr. Linda Sands. Lea has reunited with Dr. Sands and Dr. Pineda to join their team and to manage their extraordinary hospital and Pet Resort. Lea and her terrific husband, Dave, are the proud owners of 9 cats. They enjoy racing, golfing and socializing with friends.

Robin Stephenson, Office Supervisor

Robin StephensonRobin Stephenson graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a major in Romance Languages and a minor in Women's Studies. Robin's passion for animals showed through at an early age. She grew up on a forty-two acre farm in Graham, North Carolina, where she helped raise cows, chickens, geese, ducks, guinea hens, dogs, cats, a sun conure, and a donkey named Paxton. After spending six months in Spain in 2004, Robin came to reside in Durham with her significant other, Joaquin. In their spare time, the two enjoy the New York Times crosswords, photography, watching 'Animal Planet,' and playing with their beautiful black cat, Lucky.

Dayson Pasión, Professional Trainer, Resort Manager

Dayson PasiónDayson Pasión was born in Queens, New York, and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and Burlington, North Carolina. Growing up, Dayson was always interested in animals and nature. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dayson is also a student at the Animal Behavior College. He has a great interest in animal behavior and is always expanding his knowledge on the subject. He has volunteered at SAFE haven for Cats and is currently volunteering at the Animal Protection Society of Orange County, where he helps in the training and socialization of both dogs and cats. Dayson shares his life with his wife, Jessica, and their animal companions, Lucky and Charm.

Tim Snarski, Veterinary Nurse

Tim SnarskiTim Snarski was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania. He attended King's College for General Science and Johnson College where he earned an Associate in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. In June 2002, he completed the Veterinary Technician National Exam attaining Certified Veterinary Technician status. He regularly attends continuing education to provide the most up to date care for your pet. While taking each day as a new challenge and learning experience, he brings a unique ability to treat every patient as his own and sets high medical standards with love and compassion. He has special interests in chronic and acute pain management and anesthesia. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring North Carolina by hiking, skiing and snowboarding in the mountains and relaxing at the beach. He shares his life with 2 canines (JJ and Jordan) and 3 felines (Sadie, Kellie and Mack).

Haley Schoenfeld, Veterinary Nurse Assistant

Haley SchoenfeldHaley Schoenfeld grew up in Wisconsin and after attending Tufts University in Boston, she moved down to North Carolina in 2003 to begin a graduate program at Duke University. She has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and Anthropology and a Master of Environmental Management in Conservation Science and Policy. After working as an Environmental Scientist for a Non-Profit Research Firm until late 2005, she decided to change careers and return to her true passion: veterinary medicine. For the past 2 years she has been completing her pre-requisites for veterinary school and hopes to enroll either in NC State's Veterinary program or Central Carolina Community College's Veterinary Technology program in fall 2008. She lives in small-town Alamance County with her husband, Marshall, and their six (yes, six!) cats: Mittens, Boz, Eowyn, Ed T., Jak, and Monkey.

Jennifer Macy, Client Service Specialist

Jennifer MacyJennifer was born and raised in New Bern, North Carolina. She attended Campbell University where she majored in history and spent six years in the US Army as a reservist. She has always had a deep love of animals and grew up with many family pets. After living in Germany for three and a half years, Jennifer moved back to North Carolina where she likes to read, watch movies, play with her cats, Ingrid and Sarah, and spend time with her husband Josh.

Charlene Hayes, Client Service Specialist

Charlene HayesCharlene has lived in Chapel Hill since 1987. She has always had many pets, including three sightless cats, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, birds, and a husband named Leigh. In 1992, she decided to leave a successful career in real estate to pursue a second career in the animal care field. Charlene grew up in Georgetown County, South Carolina, about 40 minutes from Myrtle Beach. Before moving to Chapel Hill, she lived in Maggie Valley in the North Carolina mountains for 10 years.

Kathryn Harrell, Hospitality Specialist

Kathryn Harrell was born and raised in Pittsboro, North Carolina. She is currently a senior at Northwood High School. She lives with two kittens (Billie and Holiday), her sister's cat (Cleo) and one amazing dog named Ruthie. Prior to working at Dogwood, Kathryn volunteered at the Carnivore Preservation Trust for a year working with tigers, leopards, binturongs and a lot of other cool animals. She also enjoys art, dance, photography, the outdoors and playing with her amazing pets.

Alli Maloney, Hospitality Specialist

Jennifer MacyAlli Maloney was born in Hackkettstown, New Jersey. After state-hopping all around the U.S., she and her family found home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Growing up with chickens, rabbits, cats, and her Alaskan Malamute, Thunder, instilled a love for animals that brought her to Dogwood Veterinary Hospital and Pet Resort. Alli is a senior at Northwood High School of Pittsboro and plans to major in Journalism at either Ohio University or Indiana University. In her spare time, she enjoys talking politics with her dad and Thunder, dancing and acting in school productions with Kathryn, and reading anything she can get her hands on.

Rae Hoyle, Cosmetic Services

Rae Hoyle is Dogwood's professional groomer! Rae grew up in Chapel Hill, but moved to Raleigh in the year 2000. While in Raleigh she acquired all of her current pets: three dogs, two cats and one bird.

Early on, Rae's love for animals became the focus in her life and she decided to incorporate it into her career. Her love of animals plus her years of experience in the spa industry made her the perfect candidate for becoming a groomer! Rae was extremely fortunate to train under her close friend and Master Groomer, Laura Leigh Wilcox. Some of her specialties include undercoat removal to reduce shedding and modified show clips. She also loves finishing off the groom with customized accessorizing for your pooch! She does everything from handmade bows to painting nails!
