Dogwood Daycare
Dogwood Daycare is an extension of our pet resort and a perfect solution for pets who need attention or supervision during the day when you aren’t available to provide it. We offer a cheerful environment for dogs and cats to have fun, receive attention and burn off energy. Each pet will receive three individual or group play sessions with the supervision of our expertly trained team members. Playtime is offered outdoors in our spacious and tidy play yards or in our climate controlled, brightly colored indoor playroom. Between playtime, our daycare guests rest easy in our resort accommodations with a clean, well bedded suite, plenty of fresh water and snacks if they need them. Find comfort in knowing that all daycare guests are under the watchful eye of our team, including our doctors, should they have any special needs.

Our Standard Daycare policies:
Daycare is offered Monday through Friday. Drop off for Daycare starts at 7:30 am, pick up is any time before 5pm. Daycare guests can join us for the all-day experience, or just for half of the day. Appointments for returning guests are not necessary but we always appreciate a heads-up.
Sign your pup up for Dogwood Daycare while they are here for grooming! We also offer Daycare as an add-on amenity to resort visits. Reward programs offering reduced rates apply to both options.
First time Daycare guests should expect a brief check-in process with one of our Pet Resort Specialists upon initial drop off. This can be done prior to your pet's first day of daycare if you would prefer. We will collect information about your pet's habits, hobbies and favorite treats. We will ask you to sign some basic consent forms regarding the information listed below and we will confirm that your pet is up to date on all required vaccines and testing. We appreciate your patience during this process.
Returning daycare guests can enjoy an expidited check-in process as long as no additional time is needed to discuss vaccine and testing requirements or special needs.
We offer a coupon package for frequent daycare guests. Buy 10 sessions in advance, get 1 free. An expiration date does apply to this coupon package.
We perform a temperament test on all dogs prior to introduction into group play. This gives us a chance to get to know your pup's personality while slowly introducing them to the daycare environment. From there, we can appropriately place your pet in a group that will best suit their personality and energy level. Safety comes first! Dogwood Veterinary Hospital & Pet Resort reserves the right to refuse group play to your dog if any aggressive behavior is exhibited towards another dog or human. Dogs, like people, may have a bad day or not get along with certain dogs. If our staff observes this, we may remove your dog from the group for a “break” and offer individual playtime instead.
Your pet must be current on the following vaccines and tests:
- Rabies
- DHPP (distemper/parvo)
- Bordetella
- Heartworm Test (annual)
- Fecal test or deworming (bi-annual)
Proof of the above listed requirements must be obtained prior to your admittance into the daycare program. Let one of our Client Service Specialists take care of obtaining that information for you! Just provide us with your primary veterinarian's information. If your pet is not current on any of the requirements listed above, we will notify you prior to drop off whenever possible. Being a full-service medical facility, we can also update those things for you during your pet's visit with us.
All guests will be screened for fleas and ticks. If external parasites are noted, treatment will be administered and charged to your account (rates are based on weight of the pet).
All dogs over the age of six months must be spayed or neutered in order to participate in group play.
Until fully vaccinated against Distemper, Rabies and Bordetella, puppies and kittens under the age of 16 weeks will not be allowed to participate in group play.
Dogwood Veterinary Hospital & Pet Resort will practice diligence to ensure the safety, well being, and happiness of every dog in Dogwood Daycare. However, there are certain risks associated with allowing the freedom of dogs interacting with other dogs. Even with constant supervision, nips, scratches, muscle soreness, disease, and dog fights may occur. We encourage your awareness and understanding of the risks involved.
