Never again feel guilty about leaving your pet while you're at work, away for the day, have to travel on business or get away on vacation. Our upscale boarding accommodations allow for your pet to enjoy a comforting, playful experience away from home. Your pet will be pampered by our passionate, attentive team throughout the entirety of their stay. Our basic accommodations include as-needed, individualized attention for your pet during feeding, walking, cleaning and downtime. For additional attention, a full menu of amenities is offered for canine and feline guests that includes activities such as playtime, hair brushing, cuddle time, massage and mile walks. Our facility is clean, bright and inviting . Canine guests relax in our hand painted, luxurious suites while our feline guests enjoy their independence in our cat-dominiums.

Each of Dogwood Pet Resort's themed canine suites is large enough to accommodate dogs of any size as well as multiple dogs from the same family. Each suite is themed to match a desireable vacation destination such as Australia, Mexico, Italy or France. Our clean, climate controlled building offers a large indoor playroom in addition to 3 outdoor play yards and 4 acres of woods and trails.

Feline friends can expect to stretch out and enjoy a choice of 12 Catdominiums, which are expandable and may accommodate multiple family members. Views include the large indoor play area or the great outdoors. Seprate from our canine suites, your cat will enjoy a tranquil getaway with an excellent view and lots of love and attention.

Boredom is never an option for pets staying in our Pet Resort. There's something going on all the time to capture your pet's attention and interest. Consider adding additional amenities to your pet's stay to help burn off some energy and to offer extra, individualized attention. Either way, your pet will be pampered by our enthusiastic and affectionate team throughout the entirety of their stay with us.

To make a reservation please phone 919-942-6330. The schedule for drop-off or pick up of your pet is as follows:

  • Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

  • Saturday: 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m.

  • Sunday: 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

*Please note that hours may change for Holidays. Call our office to inquire about special Holiday hours and availability during these times.


Pet Resort Policies:

Boarding rates are based on the size and type of your pet. Much like a human hotel, we charge per night. As a courtesy to you, additional daytime charges do not apply unless your pet is picked up after 1pm. No half-day rates apply to pets who are in the Spa or in Daycare on the final day of their stay. Please contact us for more accurate price quotes.

We collect a deposit in the amount of one night's stay for all boarding reservations. This deposit will be applied to your final balance at the time of check-out. Holiday deposits apply for most major holidays and are calculated for 3 nights. If our resort reaches capacity, a waitlist will be put into place and reservations will be made on a first come, first served basis.  

In the event that cancellation is necessary, please contact us as soon as possible so that we are able to offer your pet's reservation to another guest. If you are able to let us know within 24 hours of your reservation, a full refund of the deposit will be applied to your account. For holidays, our cancellation policy requires 3 days notice to be eligible for a refund.  

Once a reservation is made, you should expect a phone call within the week prior to your reservation to help expidite the check-in process. Be prepared to discuss your pet's diet, belongings, exercise, vaccination and special needs during this phone call. A brief check-in is still required when you drop your pet off with us. We will ask you to sign some basic consent forms regarding the care of your pet while you are away and we will confirm that your pet is up to date on all required vaccines and testing. We appreciate your patience during this process and want to do all that we can to ensure that your pet is happy and healthy during their stay with us.

Frequent resort guests are eligible for a "Passport" which can expidite the check-in process further and eliminates the need for a pre-registration call. If your pet has a Passport, the check-in process will be brief as long as no changes need to be made and your pet is up to date on all requirements (listed below).

Pets staying in our resort are always kept separate from other resort guests. Each pet is individually hand walked to our outdoor play yards and observed by a staff member. Families of multiple pets can stay together and participate in amenities together. Non-family pets will not be placed together unless approved by you and our staff. If you are interested in having your dog participate in group play, please ask our staff for more information.


Canine Guests must be current on:

  • Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccines
  • Heartworm test (annually)
  • Fecal test or deworming (biannually)


Feline Guests must be current on:

  • Rabies and FVCRP vaccines
  • Fecal test or deworming (biannually)

Proof of the above listed requirements must be obtained prior to your pet's stay with us. Let one of our Client Service Specialists take care of obtaining that information for you! Just provide us with your primary veterinarian's information. If your pet is not current on any of the requirements listed above, we will notify you prior to drop off whenever possible. Being a full-service medical facility, we can also update those things for you during your pet's visit with us.

All guests will be screened for fleas and ticks.  If external parasites are noted, treatment will be administered and charged to your account (rates are based on weight of the pet).
