Dahlia was born and raised in the rolling hills of middle Tennessee, but she has called Chapel Hill home since 2012. Her passion for animal husbandry was sparked at a very young age while tending to the pigs, chickens, peacocks, and horses on her mother’s farm. Attending college at Tennessee Technological University, she received her B.S. in Animal Science in 2010. While studying for her degree Dahlia’s main interests were in genetics and sustainable agriculture, but ultimately she always knew she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Dahlia’s favorite part of working at Dogwood is having fun with her furry patients and their families while offering them the best care possible. Dahlia shares her home with an adopted collie, Tunechi, and a sassy cat named Caspian, who she rescued from under a dumpster. She also has four pet goldfish. In her spare time Dahlia enjoys knitting, working in her garden, expanding her tiny souvenir spoon collection, and baking all types of delicious desserts.
